Product Description
Cold rolled non oriented silicon steel is a silicon iron alloy with low carbon content. After deformation and annealing treatment, the grains exhibit an irregular orientation distribution. The silicon content of this alloy is usually between 1.5% and 3.0%, or the sum of silicon and aluminum content is between 1.8% and 4.0%. Products usually exist in the form of cold-rolled sheets or strips, with two main nominal thicknesses: 0.35 and 0.5mm.
Non oriented silicon steel is mainly used in the manufacturing of electric motors and generators. This is because it has the characteristics of high magnetic induction intensity and low iron loss.
In addition, in order to manufacture non oriented silicon steel with excellent performance, it is necessary to strictly control the element content in the steel. For example, aluminum can improve the strength and hardness of electrical steel, while reducing its ductility. But the effect of aluminum on reducing ductility is not as significant as that of silicon. Therefore, as the grade increases, the silicon content gradually increases to about 3%, while the aluminum content can gradually increase to 1%.
