Product Description
201 stainless steel strip is a type of chromium nickel stainless steel, mainly containing manganese elements. Its chemical composition is as follows:
Chromium (Cr): minimum 15%
Nickel (Ni): optional type to enhance corrosion resistance
Manganese (Mn): over 8%
Silicon (Si): below 0.5%
Phosphorus (P): Below 0.04%
Sulfur (S): below 0.03%
In addition, according to the standard, 201 stainless steel strip may also contain a certain amount of copper (Cu) and nitrogen (N).
Although 201 stainless steel strip contains high chromium and nickel elements, its corrosion resistance is lower than high nickel stainless steels such as 304 and 316. In certain environments, 201 stainless steel strips may be susceptible to corrosion or pitting. Therefore, attention should be paid to its applicable environment during use.
Although the corrosion resistance of 201 stainless steel strip is relatively low, its strength and hardness are high, making it still applicable in certain specific fields. It is widely used in automotive parts, furniture, kitchen utensils, and other components that require high strength and hardness. However, for applications that require high corrosion resistance, such as food processing equipment and medical devices, other more corrosion-resistant stainless steel materials should be chosen.
