Product Description
Cold rolled grain free oriented silicon steel for transformers is an important ferrosilicon alloy mainly used in the manufacturing of transformers (iron cores). Its production process is complex and manufacturing technology is strict, mainly divided into ordinary oriented silicon steel (CGO) and high magnetic induction oriented silicon steel (HiB).
The grains of this silicon steel exhibit an irregular orientation distribution after deformation and annealing, with a silicon content typically ranging from 1.5% to 3.0%, or a sum of silicon and aluminum content ranging from 1.8% to 4.0%. The product is usually cold-rolled sheet or strip, with nominal thicknesses of 0.35 and 0.5mm.
The carbon, sulfur, nitrogen, and oxygen content of this silicon steel should be as low as possible. Aluminum can improve the strength and hardness of electrical steel and reduce ductility. As the grade increases, the carbon, sulfur, and manganese content further decreases.
This type of silicon steel sheet can be further divided into two types of steel strips: grain oriented and grain oriented. Usually, grain oriented cold rolled strips are used as iron cores for motors or welding transformers; Grain oriented cold-rolled strips are used as iron cores for power transformers, pulse transformers, and magnetic amplifiers.
In addition, cold-rolled silicon steel strip has the characteristics of flat surface, uniform thickness, high stacking coefficient, good punching performance, and higher magnetic induction and lower iron loss compared to hot-rolled silicon steel strip. Using cold strips instead of hot rolled strips to manufacture motors or transformers can reduce their weight and volume by 0% -25%.
